How to setup Fingerprint Lock on WhatsApp: The new feature allows users to unlock their apps using the fingerprint sensors of their smartphones. Users need to install the latest version of the Android beta app on their smartphones to use these features.

One of the recently added features on Android is the ability to add a fingerprint lock to WhatsApp Messenger. This means that you can’t access WhatsApp chats without unlocking the app via a fingerprint saved on the phone.

Now, this feature has been available on WhatsApp for iPhone since February this year, and it first appeared in a beta build for WhatsApp’s Android users back in August.

Step 4: Touch the fingerprint sensor to confirm your fingerprint.

Step 5: You can tap to select the amount of time before fingerprint authentication is prompted.

Whatsapp has finally updated its App very recently to now enable TouchID/FaceID to access WhatsApp on your iPhone. It can be a very handy feature for many iPhone users, who have often wanted App Locks for their apps especially like Whatsapp. To enable TouchID or FaceID, follow these steps: (Procedure for TouchID and FaceID is same)

Step 1: Make sure Whatsapp on your device is updated to the latest version from the App Store.

Step 2: After updating, open Whatsapp.

Step 3: Go to settings.

Step 4: Select Account.

Step 5: Select Privacy.

Step 6: Under Privacy, you will see ‘Screen Lock’. Inside this option, enable the toggle for ‘Require TouchID’ (or ‘Require FaceID’ depending on your device).

That’s it! Now you will require biometrics to open Whatsapp on your iOS device.
